KUMBA HOSTS MEETING ON MOVIE DISTRIBUTION.

A meeting to deliberate on movie distribution strategies took place in kumba yesterday June 18,2022.

Initiated and chaired by one of Cameron's finest movie directors Musing Derrick, the meeting was attended by Kumba based film makers.

The distribution of movies in Cameroon has remained the greatest challenge in the sector, as such movie producers and actors gathered with the intention of figuring out how movie makers can make money from film.

Musing Derrick urged film makers to think universal when making movies and insisted that movie making does not end in Kumba.

At the end of the meeting, film makers were optimistic about the future of the Cameroon film industry

ENTER THE MUKETE CUP CHAPTER TWO.

The second Edition of the Mukete cup has kicked off in Kumba. Organized by Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko, Paramount Ruler of the Bafaw, this competition provides an opportunity for all villages which comprise the Bafaw tribe to come together and compete in a football tournament. Launched under the theme “Football at the center of Advancing Unity and Togetherness of the Bafaw”, this second edition was opened by Prince Ndoki Mukete, who was representing the Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko the Paramount Ruler. In an address, Prince Ndoki Mukete urged the players to display a spirit of fair play in the course of the competition, while insisting that football is a beautiful game which should always gather and not separate people. KUMBA CELEBRATES DISABILITY AWARENESS DAY (DAD)

Persons with disability from Kumba and its environs gathered at the Women’s Empowerment Center in Kumba on the 17th of July to commemorate the Disability Awareness Day. (DAD) This firth edition in Cameroon was celebrated under the theme “Changing the lives of Persons lives of persons with disability. Disability awareness day is set aside for persons with disability to come together, voice their plights, encourage each other as well as jointly seek ways to improve their lives. In his opening speech, the Cameroon country coordinator Takang Aya Ayuk who equally doubles as the President of “Close the Gap” thanked their UK partner and initiator of the Disability awareness day, Dave Thompson for his support, which went a long way to ensuring a successfully celebration in Kumba. DELA NGANGUH TAKES KUMBA OLD BOYS AND GIRLS ON A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE

Members of the 'Kumba old boys and girls worldwide' Facebook community have in the past few weeks been gripped by a feeling of nostalgia after a group member, Dela Nganguh, took them on a trip down memory lane. Over the past few weeks, Dela Nganguh, from Ntoko Street Kumba, who is currently based in the UK, started publishing a series of articles in the group, which he captioned 'Kumba, untold stories. Out of his desire to transform a group which was fast becoming a venue for obituary announcements into a learning medium, he has taken members on a journey to the past by sharing in-depth stories about about the evolution of Photography in Kumba, the Yuruba businessmen and present day Lido Street, as well as the contribution Dela Nganguh of the Ghanaian community in Kumba.
